Vacuum Gauge Recall

Luna Technologies recently uncovered a safety issue with a piece of auxiliary equipment included with the Welch vacuum pump.

What Is This Issue and How Does It Affect My Equipment?

The Welch vacuum pump package included a battery-operated vacuum gauge (pictured below). This battery-operated gauge is not C1D1 rated and should never be installed or used within any C1D1 environment. This oversight occurred because of a misidentified component (by Welch) in the vacuum pump packages provided to Luna Technologies.

Note that this issue was discovered BEFORE any gauges were installed in hazardous areas.

We regret any inconvenience this situation might have caused and appreciate your understanding as we work diligently to prioritize your safety and satisfaction. Luna Technologies is steadfast in delivering exceptional products and service experiences, and we remain committed to upholding these standards.

Thank you for being a valued member of the Luna Technologies community. We anticipate continuing to serve you effectively in the future.

What Is the Solution?

As a result, we are offering to exchange the gauge for an in-store credit of $1033 that you can use in the Luna Technologies store. You can use this credit to purchase any item in the store, including filter socks, gaskets, hardware, CRC media, etc.

In our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability, we are offering a comprehensive solution to address this matter satisfactorily.  We want to emphasize that we are taking proactive steps to ensure that your safety is not compromised in any way. Importantly, this issue was identified and addressed before any of these non-C1D1 rated gauges were deployed in potentially hazardous environments. Rest assured, our diligence in quality control has prevented any risk to your safety.

Can I Keep the Gauge?

You may, of course, keep the gauge, but you must not use it inside any C1D1-rated spaces.

We recognize that you might have unique requirements that necessitate retaining the gauge despite its limitations. If you choose to retain it, we must emphasize that under no circumstances should it be employed within any environment classified as C1D1. Your safety remains paramount, and we urge you to adhere to this guideline to mitigate any potential risks.

How Will I Return the Gauge and Get Store Credit?

Customers need only notify the Luna support team using this form or by calling 971-337-2314 that you are planning to return the gauge for store credit. We will arrange for the shipping, so all you would need to do is package up the gauge, attach the shipping label, and kick it out the door to us.

Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated as we work to rectify this situation and uphold the trust you have placed in Luna Technologies. We remain dedicated to your safety, satisfaction, and the reliable performance of your equipment.

Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team, who are ready to assist you.

Thank you for choosing Luna Technologies.
